Advantage Engineering was originally formed in the early 1980's as a partnership with Bob Proulx. We completed a contract to design and build embedded hardware and software, but then closed the company to focus on our full-time engineering jobs.
Advantage Engineering is now based in Austin, TX and is a technology services company for J. Scott Gardner's consulting and freelance writing activities.
As a 20-year veteran of the microprocessor industry, I have helped lead the evolution from a components-driven business into the modern age of system-level solutions for mainstream, consumer-focused technology. I've maintained my hardcore technical skills and continue to have a balance between hardware and software. My MBA from Santa Clara University enhanced my real-world education on the need for strategic thinking in managing a team and running a business.
